In this new series, the LA-based artist shifts to small-scale paintings more akin to devotional objects. The works are composed of natural and manufactured detritus gathered from Mallinson's daily walks through her neighborhood, along with appropriated photographic landscapes.

Michael Berryhill: Scenic Route

Opening Reception: Saturday, September 23, 2023 | 6–8pm
New paintings cultivated by the artist through a gradual process of adding and subtracting, using a dry brush to apply paint and a palette knife to scrape away. Berryhill builds up his weathered surfaces of colorworks, reworking layers of vibrant oil paint onto canvas, changing his images only to transform them again. Opening in the east gallery at the same time, Rachel Youn: Well Adjusted, is a presentation of mechanized sculptures.
